I believe you asked what is the CODE? Apologies in advance if I got the question wrong.
The CODE protects the sandbox from unwanted "bugs". Like ring-worm the botlords ruin the purity of the box infecting the children of New Eden and scarring the psyche of law abiding residents. Imagine, you get off from a hard days work and look forward to mining your asteroid while eating a pizza. Normal behavior for most miners. Then when you warp from belt to belt looking for an asteroid you frantically realize the belts have been stripped by botlords, most probably running a "sweets" shop in China using child labor to strip the belts in game, thus stripping you of your enjoyment.
The CODE has more than 300 trained agents to identify and quickly neutralize bot behavior. A CODE agent derives his or her strength from the belief that JAMES 315, our LORD and SAVOIR brought the light to New Eden enabling us to better forge a future rid of botlords. The fight rages on.
Please consider a future with the CODE. All are welcome, no api's checked. |

There is MUCH misconceived about the CODE, please let me clarify for you:
1. The CODE don't care about players, they just want to blow things up.
Permit holders are sometimes harassed by other players for their open support of the CODE. We are regularly called by our leadership to deploy to those far regions to support our Permit Holders at a cost many multiples of 10 million isk.
2. We are an extortion racket.
If this were true why do we offer 12 months of protection for 10 million isk. It's the confirmation you have read the CODE and sworn against bot-aspirant. The 10 million isk is a symbolic amount. The permit must be placed in your bio. Is the DMV an extortion racket because they charge you registration on your car... bad example.
3. We blow up innocent pods, how is this saving hi-sec?
Bot-aspirants are NOT to be tolerated. We believe if you give an inch, players become comfortable and from the auto-piloting, AFK activity built into the game you may become botlords. Much like kissing can lead to teenage pregancy. JAMES 315 taught us to be traditionalists and conservative while interpreting the CODE.
4. We are a rude bunch of disruptive role playing bads.
We are some of the most polite people in Eve. We expect the same from you. Bringing civility to New Eden is not easy. If you read the CODE you will see, being courteous is a trait expected from all in New Eden.
5. I can just ignore the CODE, I don't need a PERMIT.
We will kill you and blow up your stuff. Eventually, you will come to realize it's cheaper to support the cause for 10 million isk, which is less than insuring your ship. If you follow the CODE and lose your vessel, ask for a diplo and you may be reimbursed.

There are no corp dues. All ships are reimbursed, according to alliance doctrine. I was just reimbursed 360 million isk for my work AND I kept all the loot droppings from the illegal miscreants. Where else in Eve will you be treated like this?

Like all good things, many are abused to the point CCP must step in and "nerf" them... LAGL should be nerfed. It's an exploit and OP, like the tracking enhancer, remote sensor booster, Gila drone characteristics etc.,. The like butan should mean something, carry some weight represent the players scale of "likability" not "lickability" as it is now.
I, hereby officially request CCP Mint Chip or some other grand social wizard to take control of this thread and bring meaning to the like butan. |
